Why post here instead of the giants?
Thinking of posting it on Facebook?
FACEBOOK MARKETPLACEYour post enters a feed ranked by recency; within hours newer posts push it below the fold.
HEREYour post is a permanent page with its own address, live for a stated 30-day period β the exact end date is printed on your receipt.
FACEBOOK MARKETPLACENo view counts, no visitor locations, no record of what happened after posting.
HEREYour receipt records when the search engines were notified, then tracks total views, distinct visitors, and the cities they came from.
FACEBOOK MARKETPLACEAny throwaway account can message you; deposit scams and no-shows are the platform's most documented complaint.
HEREEvery poster holds a registered account, and first-time posters pass a one-time confirmation that keeps scammers and spammers out β a human administrator can suspend abuse.
Thinking of Kijiji?
KIJIJISince March 13, 2024, every Services post carries a paid insertion fee; Jobs, Vehicles and Real Estate bill per 31-day listing period.
HEREOne flat price, shown in full before you publish. Personal posts are free.
KIJIJIPay, sink under newer listings, pay again to bump. After 31 days you own nothing.
HEREYour post stays live its full stated period, and your receipt never disappears.
KIJIJIThree owners in five years β eBay, then Adevinta ($9.2B, 2021), now private equity. Each change has meant more fees.
HEREPrices are set by the site owner and printed on the page. No outside owner to serve.
KIJIJIAnyone can post from a throwaway username β no identity check, so scams and spam are routine.
HEREA first-time personal poster pays a one-time confirmation β it proves a real, serious person is behind the post and keeps scams and spam out. Membership itself is free, and personal posting stays free.
Paying a directory every month?
YELLOW PAGES / 411An enhanced listing runs $30β$60/month, premium $100β$300/month, marketing packages up to $2,500/month β charged every month, whether or not anything changes.
HEREYou pay per post, only when you have something to publish. A quiet month costs you nothing.
YELLOW PAGES / 411411.ca holds a 2.3 out of 5 TrustScore, built on complaints about cold calls and auto-renewing contracts.
HERENo sales calls, no contracts. The price is printed on the page before you commit.
YELLOW PAGES / 411Yellow Pages' revenue collapsed from ~$1.1B in 2012 to under $200M in 2025; it survives by raising prices on a shrinking customer base.
HEREYour post is a modern, indexed web page with structured data β built for how people search today, not for a phone book.
Hiring on Indeed?
INDEEDEmployers pay per click β $0.10β$5.00+ per click, with a $25/day minimum per posting. You pay for traffic, not applicants.
HEREOne flat price, stated before you publish. It doesn't move.

HEREYour job reaches a local audience that lives here β and your receipt shows who saw it.
